Miami is the land of 365 days of sunshine. Well almost. Miami is pretty well known for it’s fabulous weather, beaches, and culture year round. We’ve been a Nautique dealer in the 305 for the last 25 years, so we’ve decided to put our expertise to good use and compile some of our favorite places to ride in the area.

It doesn’t matter what time of year you visit. You’ll always get days perfect for water activities because the sun is in your favor year-round. So, let’s discuss one of the most recommended spots for riding on the East Coast. Soak up the sun and enjoy the weather to the fullest.

Biscayne Bay at Sunrise

Riding in Biscayne Bay is a bucket list item for most. Next to the sky rises, it’s the ultimate dream for Wakesurfing. Go before sunrise if you want to experience some of the most jaw-dropping scenery in the world. The conditions can vary, so in this case the early bird really does catch the worm.

Miami Seaquarium

Across the causeway on the other side of Biscayne Bay and opposite the High-Rises, is the Miami Seaquarium. Another reliable spot to go rip some turns when the conditions are less favorable on the other side of the bay.

Miami Watersports Complex

If Biscayne Bay isn’t calm enough, or you’re a little late to catch the day, then the local Miami Watersports Complex (MWC) is a great spot! It doesn’t matter if you are a newbie or a professional, MWC has something for every skill level. The complex gives lessons if you are still new, and you can rent all the equipment if you need to get your own. They have both a cable lake and a boat lake so you can practice any discipline. The cable is usually a great place to try gear out too, you can rent the kit here and test it before buying a set and seeing if you like it. The facility is also kid-friendly. They have an aqua park where kids play on giant inflatable slides.

The Greater Miami Ski Club

If want to try something new, you could ride at the Greater Miami Ski Club. They are just a few minutes from the airport and have five slalom courses. They offer a closed circuit and have a jump ramp, too, that you can try some tricks on. They are a membership-only clubs but have different pricing to fit any needs. If you live nearby, though, and are looking for somewhere to store your boat, this may be the spot for you to go and ride. Even if you are visiting Miami, they offer visitation-type membership packages that can immediately get you out on the water. Suppose you want to ride on a closed course. Then you really should check out the Greater Miami Ski Club.

Miami Marine Stadium

One of Miami’s historical landmarks is the Miami Marine Stadium. This stadium is at Virginia Key and was built in 1963. This location was one of the first powerhouse racing stadiums in the United States. Back in the day, Elvis Presley even filmed a movie here. It is a beautiful place to take your boat out and ride. Be careful though as this area has a lot of negligent boaters and partiers who don’t think too long about what it means to be apart of a community like this.

Even in modern times, this location in Miami provides a stunning setting for sailing and other water activities. At the very least, you can peek at the gorgeous, ahead-of-its-time architecture.
